Coasters: Gradient Colors

I purchased this coaster from Dollar Tree a couple of years ago. The gradient color pattern immediately caught my attention. Coasters are an inexpensive way to add a simple design element to a space.

Scenes From A Season: O' Christmas Tree

I used to prefer decorating my Christmas tree in a monochromatic style. It was easy and I did not have to put too much thought into the placement of the ornaments.  However, for the past couple of years I have slowly been venturing into a more of a duo-chromatic color aesthetic. I chose gold and red because of how the seamlessly contrast with one another.  Next year, I am going to incorporate duo-chromatic red and gold garland throughout the tree. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.

Scenes From A Season: Headboard

Christmas arrived a little early this year for me. I found a great deal on this quilted headboard (pictured in my living room). It came in just under $80.00 which was under the $150 budget that I set for myself.  I choose the color based on my current bedroom decor which is a mixture of grey, purple, and taupe.  Briefly, I debated on whether to buy an ornate wooden headboard instead of a quilted one.  I envisioned the ornate headboard adding a bit of dramatic flair to the overall aesthetic of my bedroom.  However, I realized that at this stage in my life. Comfort is definitely more important than style alone.  I am going to focus the ornate aspect of my bedroom's aesthetic on a piece of wall art versus anything furniture related.

Scenes From A Season: Christmas Centerpiece

This  Christmas centerpiece consists of items that I purchased during years past.  My secret weapon for centerpieces which involve faux flowers is garland. I wrap it around the stems and sometimes throughout the vase. It gives the centerpiece a finished look.  In addition, I used leftover ornaments to add an extra dimension to the centerpiece.

Scenes From A Season: Happy Holidays!

I was in the midst of decorating my Christmas tree when these items jumped out at me. Both the colors and textures of these items when well against the backdrop of the glittery gold tree skirt.

Scenes From A Season: A Touch Of Gold

A few years ago, I made the decision to add a metallic flare to my Christmas decorating. Gold and silver add an extra dimension of both color and texture to Christmas decor.  This especially applies to a Christmas tree skirt. The solid gold color with etched in glittery snowflakes and satiny texture bring my Christmas tree to life.
